ABSTRACT
This study was carried out to examine the global revolution in military affairs and combat effectiveness: challenges and prospects for the Nigerian armed forces Specifically, the study examined what constitutes a RMA. The study also,Examine the relationship between the RMA and combat effectiveness. Furthermore, the study Examine the challenges of the Nigerian Armed Forces in achieving a RMA. And finally, Proffer strategies for achieving a RMA in the Nigerian Armed Forces in order to enhance combat effectiveness. The study employed the historical analysis research design. From the responses obtained and analyzed, the findings revealed that There is a relationship between the RMA and combat effectiveness. Also,There are challenges faced by the Nigerian Armed Forces in achieving a RMA. Furthermore, There are strategies for achieving a RMA in the Nigerian Armed Forces in order to enhance combat effectiveness. The study hereby recommend That the armed forces should undergo periodic training in other to be able to achieve the goal of a revolution in the military affairs and That the armed forces be well equipped with latest ammunition and technology in other to be able to face future challenges
